CAMBRIDGE VETERANS' PARADE

On Saturday, September 14, 2002, six Wrens - Betty Butler, Betty Hart, Julie Hallett, June Redford, Doris Spencer and Bev Covington participated in a parade sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion Hespeler, to honour Dieppe.
The naval section was led by the Wrens, with Bev Covington in a vintage Mustang driven by a local volunteer. Doris Spencer carried our Association flag. We were small in number but made a great impression. As requested by the bandmaster of HMCS York, we preceded the band, representing the band's colour party.
Along with the local Sea Cadet Corps there was an impressive naval presence. Oh yes, the band was top notch as usual. Thanks to the  legion for their great hospitality - good food. good liquids and good friendship.
