Battle of the Atlantic Parade

The Wrens participated in this year's Battle of the Atlantic Service and Parade, on Sunday, May 7, 2000. The parade mustered at 10 am at H.M.C.S. York - veterans (including Wrens), H.M.C.S. York Naval Reserve, band and colour parties & Sea Cadets paraded along Lakeshore Blvd. W. (see note below***) to H.M.C.S. Haida for the memorial service - marched past and return paraded to H.M.C.S. York. The public was welcome to participate in the service at H.M.C.S. Haida at approximately 11 am.

*** This is a priviledge that was bestowed on H.M.C.S. York in 1983 when they received the Keys to the City, allowing the Ship's Company to parade the streets of the city.
